In this blog we make a distinction between measuring your ring size with a ring and measuring your ring size without a ring. There is a different way to do both. You need a few items when you want to measure your ring size at home. Collect the following items: a tape measure or ruler. Don't have this at home? Then take a look in your toolbox, because you can also use a caliper.

Measuring ring size WITH ring

 

We start by measuring your ring size with a ring. You will need a ring that fits your finger and a tape measure. Measuring your ring size by diameter is very easy. Follow the next steps:

 

1.         Put your ring on the table and take your tape measure.

2.         Measure how many millimeters the diameter of your ring is. So the inside of the ring, without the edges. 

3.         Read off in the table what your ring size is.

 

 

You can also measure the diameter of your ring using a caliper. Again, you need a ring that fits well on your finger and so a caliper. 

 

1.         Place your ring between the spoons of the caliper.

2.         You can now read how many millimeters the diameter is. Again, be careful not to count the edges of your ring. 

3.         Read off in the table what your ring size is.

 

 

 

Measuring ring size WITHOUT ring

 

If you don't have a (fitting) ring at home, you can also measure your ring size another way. Measure the diameter or the circumference of your finger. Both are done with a tape measure. Measure the diameter of your finger like this:

 

1.         Put your hand on the table and take your tape measure. 

2.         Put the tape measure around the finger where you want to wear your ring and measure the diameter.

3.         You now know how many millimeters the diameter of your finger is and can read your ring size in the table. 

 

Last, you can figure out your ring size by measuring the circumference of your finger. Again, you do this with a tape measure. 

 

1.         Wrap the tape measure around the finger where you want to wear your ring.

2.         Read off the number of millimeters at the point where the tape comes back together.

3.         Check the table to see which ring size fits the circumference of your finger.

 

No tape measure at home? You can also go through these steps with a piece of string. With a pen, mark a line where the string meets. Then measure this with a ruler and read your size in the table. Now you still know the correct ring size.
